Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai

Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!” also called as “Papakiki” for short, in English it translates to “Listen to Me, Girls, I’m Your Father!“. A Slice of life Anime that will mislead your expectations of the Anime after watching the very first episode. Surely enough it is a serious Anime which a lot of people can relate to. Basically the Anime makes you realize what you need rather than what you want and by saying that i mean Harem and Ecchi is out of the picture 😛

Yuta was asked by his sister to watch over her 3 daughters as she and her husband was going on a trip. The plane that Yuta’s sister and her husband took went missing and the daughters we’re to be adopted separately by relatives which the 3 were strongly against as they would like to stay together. Yuta decides to take in the 3 girls and raise them like his sister had raised him by herself.

Papakiki from the magazine covers looks like another Haremcentric Anime that caters to the desire of some people to live with cute girls. Though Romance is one of the genres of this Anime it does not really say specifically what type of romance. Unlike other Romance Anime that much well focused on the development between 2 characters, The Romance in Papakiki meant love for the family. Goosebumps that you get from seeing 2 characters that develop intimate relationships does seem lacking in this Anime. Nevertheless it presents you with a whole new thing to be focused on. Also i am quite amazed on how Papakiki didn’t follow the format of every Slice of Life anime. I am talking about a beach episode half way into the series and a Christmas episode at the near end. Papakiki has none of that instead it shows you great character profiling , giving you a chance to learn each main character’s characteristics that help the audience sympathize with the story.

Like OniAi, Papakiki did not struck me to make me demand for a second season but i felt really good that i’ve watched the series. No beach and Christmas episodes means that the Series was focused on bringing us the story from start to end which is good. It means there is no need to place events to add a certain atmosphere.

A single father with 3 daughters. I would be more comfortable with two at most when I eventually conceive my heir(s) to the throne. Anyway, I will pick this one up, as I had been planning on doing so when I was in the mood.

Though I haven’t watched this yet, I have read a spin-off of this entitled: Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai! – Rojou Kansatsu Kenkyuu Nisshi which basically satisfies my unsat
    iable ecchi side. XD
