Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai

I think you might’ve heard about Ano Hana. Everytime it’s mentioned in Facebook anime pages, you read something like “ooh the end made me cry” or “the feels”. Like Zweimac’s previous post on Koe no Katachi, Ano Hana also gives you that warm fuzzy feeling after watching it. It’s just a cute and heart warming anime that you need to watch.

AnoHana is a story about a girl named Menma, who died 10 years ago, reappearing in front of her childhood friend Jinta.

Ano Hana’s worth remembering for many reasons. First of all is the title itself. Ano Hana is short for Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai which literally translates to We Still Don’t Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day. Yeah, that’s a long ass name. After you had finished all of the episodes, you’ll realize why it’s really remembered. Ano Hana has one of anime’s most beautiful endings, it even put me to tears. It kinda reminds you of Clannad with the dramatic scenes.

The endings not the only reason to watch the anime. It deals with a lot of issues of daily life.  Moving on, guilt, paranoia, depression, insecurities, negativity, seclusion, jealousy and so on.  Because the main premise of the story is for her to reunite all of her five friends who had become dark and different because of her death, even though she’s already dead.

Sometimes the pacing might be a bit inconsistent at times, every episode always advances the plot straightforwardly, no sudden side stories like what Clannad had. Whether that’s what you like or not, Ano Hana will  nevertheless pull you into watching the next episode. And did I forget? Menma is so darn cute, with her voice and all. :3

The anime is beautiful to watch. The art and animation is solid since the guys behind it is A-1 Pictures, the folks who made Sword Art Online, Oreimo, Working!! and many more. But what really seals the deal is the music. Fitting dramatic songs cue in real tense and critical moments. Piano acoustics will bring the feels when the anime wants you to cry. It’s really amazing.

Those who love Drama, this series cannot be missed. Must watch this =D
It remind me of song from Vocaloid titled “REBOOT”

Hi sutrablue! Thanks for your support on our blog! 🙂

Anyway, I just listened to that song with its music video and you’re right! But what a stupid way to die there. LOL

    • sutrablue says:

Just call me Sutra or Blu is fine =D

Hmm, maybe she is honest and airhead-tyoe of girl and act by reflex when she intended to pick up the star, but unfortunately at the worst timing.
It’s pretty good to me, I learn something from that song, “We always come to realize how precious something is when we are lose it, and what already done cannot taken back.”

Also you forget to mention the ending song of Ano Hana “Secret Base – Kimi ga kureta mono” performed by Scandal 😀

    • traydo0r says:

oh yeah! Scandal’s too awesome not to mention so imma edit the post now! 🙂
actually i liked the ending song more than the opening one.

    • sutrablue says:

Very agree, I like ending song more than the opening XD
Maybe thats why someone made into Vocaloid Cover too

    • traydo0r says:

Sword art, Oreimo and working??? you just mentioned 3 of my top 10! and look she is so cute!! This better reminds me of clannad like you said or else… hhaha ^_^

Ano Hana. Many emotions were experienced b yours truly during that show. Tales of Graces f’s plot kinda has some similarities. Good show it was. Many raging otaku boners were had thanks to Anaru…and to some extent, Tsuruko.

Menma fulfilled her role as the cheerful peacemaker and her departure was most saddening.
